Description
Luffing jib crane is a kind of port equipment for lifting and moving heavy loads such as containers, bulk cargoes and bales. This kind of port crane can be stationary or move on wheels, caterpillar tracks or rails. Their articulated arm gives them more flexibility and maneuverability than fixed-arm models. However, there is a block and tackle with cable at the lifting end of the arm. Most of them are powered by a diesel or electric motor, with a hydraulic system for arm operations. Load capacity ranges from a few tons to several thousand tons.
